While interacting with the media on Tuesday, April 12, Maharashtra Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil remarked that the protest march undertaken by certain Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) staffers to NCP Chief Sharad Pawar’s residence was an attack.

Patil reportedly added that the occurrence has a connection with Nagpur and the police are investigating the case. He further mentioned that certain journalists were also summoned by the police in connection with the incident.

At the same time, the police have sought extended custody of the worker's supposed to advocate, Gunaratna Sadavarte. It has been reported that Sadavarte was arrested for instigating the protest.

Based on accounts, the police have elaborated on how Sadavarte was in contact with someone from Nagpur before the agitation and sought the presence of the media. These details are said to have emerged after the authorities went through Sadavarte’s phone.

Apart from the incident he also spoke about the phone tapping case. Patil elucidated that Shiv Sena minister Sanjay Raut’s phone was tapped for 60 days, while NCP minister Eknath Khadse’s phone was tapped for 67 days.
