All major political parties have applied to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to hold campaign meetings at the Shivaji Park ground in Dadar. Shiv Sena Shinde Group, Nationalist Party (Ajit Pawar Group), BJP, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, Shiv Sena (Thackeray Group) have requested to give ground on various dates and therefore there is a possibility that meetings will be held in Shivaji Park during the Lok Sabha elections.

Shivaji Park and political gatherings have an old relationship. Even in this, Maidan's relationship with late Shiv Sena chief Balasaheb Thackeray and Shiv Sena is stronger. Since this is the first election to be held after the vertical split in Shiv Sena, both the parties are eager to win Shivaji Park. Apart from these two parties, three more parties have applied to the North Division of the Municipal Corporation for permission to hold a meeting on the ground.

Sources informed that applications have also been received for the play 'Janata Raja' in the chaos of the campaign meetings.

Signs of controversy from May 17

According to sources, Shiv Sena's Thackeray faction and MNS have applied for the meeting on the same day, i.e. May 17. So now there are signs of controversy over who will get permission on this date. Ajit Pawar group has requested to hold meeting on April 22, 24, 27 and BJP on April 23, 26, 28.
