In Mumbai and the suburban areas, various permissions are required for the production of films, television series, advertisements, documentaries, web series, etc.

These permissions are given through a one-window scheme. As per reports, Cultural Affairs Minister Amit Deshmukh has stated that the scheme will be expanded now.

Moreover, a presentation on the one-window scheme being implemented by Dadasaheb Phalke Chitranagari was made in the presence of Cultural Affairs Minister Amit Deshmukh. Amit Deshmukh, speaking about the same, has stated that the city of Mumbai is known not only as the financial capital of the country but also as the cultural capital. Currently, filming has resumed for various mediums in different districts of the state including Mumbai and the suburbs, Deshmukh added that at such times it is necessary to expand the one-window scheme. Moreover, the expansion of this scheme will enable more filming in Maharashtra.

However, while expanding this scheme in the coming period, consideration should be given to expanding it in Pune, Nashik, Aurangabad, Satara, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts.

The state produces a large number of films in Marathi, Hindi and other regional languages along with television series, commercials and documentaries. Permits required for filming under this scheme are issued within 7 days. These permissions are being given online through Dadasaheb Phalke Chitranagari.
