On Saturday, Nawab Malik, Maharashtra minister and senior NCP leader, slammed the BJP for promising free vaccine for the coronavirus to the people of poll-bound Bihar, adding that such an announcement during a nationwide outbreak is an injustice to other citizens.

Moreover, he added that due to the wrong decision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a situation of crisis amidst the pandemic has been created in the country. On December 31, the World Health Organization declared a health emergency. Malik stated that if at that time, all the borders of the country, the airports, waterways or roads, had been sealed off to foreigners, then the spread of the COVID-19 could be contained better and there would be no need for a lockdown.

On the other hand, he stated that the working of the Waqf Board will be made online and a tendering process for this will be completed in the next six months adding that the head office of the Maharashtra Waqf Board will be shifted to Mumbai from Aurangabad and a regional office will function here with jurisdiction over eight nearby districts.

Earlier, the BJP had promised free vaccination for the coronavirus in lieu of the forthcoming assembly elections in Bihar. This has led to strong criticism of the BJP from the Congress and other opposition parties.
