In Maharashtra, more than 28 lakh new voters have been added under the voters list. According to the revised list published on January 31, 2019, almost 35,68,352 new voters were added while 7,29,335 names have been withdrawn. 

As per these statistics, the number of voters added in the electoral roll is 28,39,017. In Maharashtra, the number of voters for the Lok Sabha elections is 873,30,384 while the number was 8.07 crores in the year 2014. 

For the upcoming elections, 28.39 lakh new voters have registered their names. Of these voters, almost 11.9 lakh voters are between 18 to 19 years of age.

Earlier, Mumbai Congress President Sanjay Nirupam had claimed that there are 15,000 to 20,000 voters who are bogus in every state assembly constituency in Mumbai. “Of the 1.07 crore voters in Mumbai, 9 lakh voters are bogus,” he added. Nirupam had a complaint to the Election Commission.
