"Jio jeopardising our business": Mumbai Cable TV operators meet Raj Thackeray

A group of cable TV operators in Mumbai met Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray on Monday to raise a complaint against the aggressive policy of ‘Jio’ which is jeopardising their business. 

Jio is in the process of providing unlicensed connections and has started preparing for the same. In Mumbai, several companies including Hathaway, DJ and City Cable have teamed up to compete in the market with Jio. 

Therefore, the cable operators met Thackeray at his residence ‘Krishna Kunj’ in Shivaji Park and informed that their business has been threatened due to the same. Delegations across various industries have met Thackeray in the last few days demanding a solution to their problems. 

Earlier, MNS raised its voice against the non-inclusion of Marathi in the Amazon app. Thackeray also intervened in the issue of seasonal employees working with the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) after which they were allotted permanent services.
