Maharashtra Congress Stages Protest Against Prime Minister Narendra Modi

Maharashtra Congress conducted a protest against Modi at the Mantralaya while demanding an apology from him for “insulting” the state by suggesting that it encouraged the spread of COVID-19 in other regions.

According to the latest reports, on Wednesday, February 9, Maharashtra Congress conducted a protest against Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Mantralaya, while demanding an apology from him for “insulting” the state by suggesting that it encouraged the spread of COVID-19 in other regions.

Maharashtra Congress Chief Nana Patole took to Twitter and said, “A protest was held in front of the statue of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi in Mumbai against Prime Minister Narendra Modi for insulting Maharashtra. Mumbai Congress President Bhai Jagtap, Minister Vijay Vadettiwar, Sunil Kedar, Nitin Raut along with leaders and activists present.”

On the other hand, Bhai Jagtap, Mumbai Congress President on social media mentioned, “Aggressive protest was registered in front of the statue of Mahatma Gandhi near Mantralaya with Congress leaders and hundreds of activists to protest Prime Minister Narendra Modi”.

This development comes in the backdrop of a war of words igniting between the MVA government in Maharashtra and the Central Government led by the Prime Minister after his remarks that Congress was standing at Mumbai station and scaring innocent labourers into fleeing to their native states in Parliament on Monday, February 7.

While speaking with the reporters on Tuesday, February 8, Patole had remarked on how the party has decided to stage a protest on Wednesday, February 9, 2021, under the 'Modi Maafi Maango' motive, under the recent controversy.
