Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar has slammed the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) for the demolition of an illegal structure at Actress Kangana Ranaut’s office in Bandra. The NCP supremo said that this would create doubts in the minds of the people.
Pawar said that there are several illegal structures in Mumbai and it creates doubts in the minds of the people if such actions are taken. His remarks come amid the ongoing tussle between Kangana and Shiv Sena-led Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government.
While speaking at a press conference in Mumbai, Pawar said that he wasn’t aware whether Kangana’s office was legal or not but had only read about unauthorised construction in the newspaper.
“I do not know whether Kangana Ranaut's office was legal or not, so it would not be appropriate to comment without knowing. But illegal construction in Mumbai is not new. Given the current scenario, the action against her creates doubts in the minds of the people,” Pawar said.
Moreover, the NCP chief also said that unnecessary importance was being given to the actress’ remarks comparing Mumbai with Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK). Kangana earlier said that she felt more afraid of the Mumbai Police than the “movie mafia”.
Pawar, without naming her, said that people living in Maharashtra and Mumbai know the work done by the state police. He further remarked that people don’t take such statements seriously.
Pawar said the same about the threat call he received and said that he has received the same earlier too and that it was not be taken seriously.
