In response to the challenge of contesting fresh elections in Maharashtra, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar said that if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has the courage, they should carry out mid-term elections across the country and not only in the state.

“If you have the courage, conduct the mid-term elections to get a majority across the country and not only in the state,” NCP chief Sharad Pawar tauntingly said while talking to the reporters in Mumbai.

Earlier, Maharashtra BJP President Chandrakant Patil had said that the BJP will not topple the MVA government but it will fall itself. Reacting to this, Pawar said that the statements made by the BJP leaders should not be taken seriously.

“I don’t take such things seriously. The alliance between Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress have a good synergy. Every party has a different role. Under the leadership of Uddhav Thackeray, the MVA government is functioning smoothly,” said Pawar.
