Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar slammed his own grand-nephew Parth Pawar over his demand to transfer the Sushant Singh Rajput death case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Pawar said that the demand made by Parth Pawar - son of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar - was “immature”. He also said that Parth’s demand was not worth paying attention to.

“Parth has less experience. He is immature. I don’t give any importance to what he has said. I have known the Maharashtra and Mumbai Police for 50 years. I have 100 per cent faith in them,” the NCP chief said.

On August 12, a brief meeting between Pawar and Shiv Sena MP Sanjay was held at Yashwanrao Chavan Centre in south Mumbai. While talking to reporters after the meeting, Pawar said that he doesn’t intend to comment on the accusations being made in the SSR death case.

“It is unfortunate for an actor to commit suicide. However, I am surprised to see the manner in which the issue is being discussed in the media. I don’t want to go in the depths of the accusations made in the case. In my district, 20 farmers have committed suicide and the media has failed to take note of it,” Pawar said.

The former Maharashtra Chief Minister further said that he will not oppose anyone who wants a CBI probe into the matter. Pawar, however, said that the handling of the issue by the media was astonishing.

Earlier, Parth Pawar had written a letter to Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh requesting him to take national emotions into consideration and initiate a CBI investigation in Sushant Singh Rajput Death Case.
