After her health condition worsened, Independent MP Navneet Rana was moved to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital. Rana, member of parliament from Amravati, tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this week and was admitted to Wockhardt Hospital in Nagpur where she complained of breathing problem and developed a high fever.

Rana received initial treatment in Amravati and was shifted to the private hospital in Nagpur. However, as she developed a high fever and complained of breathing problem, Rana on Thursday evening left for Mumbai in an ambulance.

Her husband Ravi Rana had also tested positive for the coronavirus with a dozen of other family members including their daughter, sister and parents. It is learnt that all 16 members of her family have tested positive for COVID-19. Ravi Rana is a three-time MLA from Badnera assembly constituency.

On August 6, the couple had tested positive after their second test and were asymptomatic. They had tested negative in their first test for the coronavirus. However, they were admitted to Wockhardt Hospital in Nagpur. On August 11, Ravi Rana was discharged from the hospital but the condition of Navneet Rana has worsened now.

Navneet Kaur Rana had appealed those who came in close contact with her to get themselves tested for the coronavirus. She was tested positive while taking care of her children and other family members who had tested positive earlier. The Rana family is currently undergoing treatment and has been isolated.

In Maharashtra, six cabinet ministers in the Uddhav Thackeray government have tested positive for COVID-19.

Maharashtra Minister Sanjay Bansode tested COVID-19 positive and was getting treatment for COVID-19 at a private hospital in Mumbai city. He is the Minister of State (MoS) for Environment, Water Supply and Public Works in the Uddhav Thackeray cabinet.
