Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar is scheduled to visit the regions in Konkan area where damaged has been caused due to Cyclone Nisarga. The Konkan region has been particularly affected by the cyclone, although several parts of the state including Mumbai were spared most of the damage.

On his two-day visit, Pawar will visit Raigad and Ratnagiri districts on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively. He will interact with the cyclone-hit farmers and also hold a meeting with local representatives and state officials.

The NCP supremo will also visit Shrivardhan in Raigad district where the cyclone made landfall.

Earlier, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray announced funds worth ₹200 crores for immediate relief to those affected by the cyclone. The CM has announced packages for Sindhudurg, Raigad, and Ratnagiri districts which have been affected due to the cyclone.

In a tweet, the Chief Minister Office (CMO) mentioned Raigad will receive Rs 100 crore towards relief, while Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts will get ₹75 crores and ₹25 crores, respectively. The tweet specifies that these funds will go towards emergency relief to restore the damages caused by the cyclone.

Although Cyclone Nisarga impacted on Mumbai in the form of cyclone storm, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) didn’t waste any time in resuming works on the massive COVID-19 health facility being established at Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC).

The CM had earlier visited Alibaug and had announced ₹100 crores for immediate relief. However, former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis demanded increased relief funds for districts impacted by the cyclone in some form.
