After Shiv Sena, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has also decided to contest the upcoming Bihar assembly elections. The Sharad Pawar-led party has released a list of its 40 star campaigners.

The number of assembly seats on which the NCP would contest Bihar elections is not clear as of now. However, in a statement, the party said that it will share the relevant details soon.

Earlier, the Election Commission of India (ECI) announced polls in Bihar to be held in three phases from October 28. The Bihar elections will be held on 234 assembly seats and the NCP is likely to announce its list of candidates by next week.

However, the NCP has released a list of its 40 star campaigners which include several senior leaders including Sharad Pawar. NCP spokesperson Mahesh Tapase informed that the NCP chief will the main star campaigner for the Bihar assembly polls.

NCP MP Praful Patel, MP Sunil Tatkare, K. K. Sharma, MP Supriya Sule, Maharashtra Minorities Minister and National Spokesperson Nawab Malik, Rajiv Jha, Narendra Verma, Rajendra Jain, Sachchidanand Singh, Brijmohan Srivastava, K. J. Josemon, Faujia Khan, Dheeraj Sharma, Sonia Duhan, Shabbir Vidrohi and Pushpendra Malik are among other star campaigners.

In the 2015 Bihar Assembly elections, the NCP had received 1 lakh 85 thousand 437 votes. In this year's elections, there was a big attempt to discredit the NCP-controlled Home Department and the Mumbai Police. Therefore, along with Shiv Sena, it seems that NCP will also campaign for Sushant's issue.

During the 2015 Bihar assembly polls, the NCP managed to get over 1.85 lakh votes. This year the motivation for NCP to contest the election is the whole Sushant Singh Rajput death case fiasco. The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government claims that there was a conspiracy to defame Mumbai and Maharashtra.
