Dockyard- Sales Tax workers did not work on 23rd November in protest to the GST. This was carried out between 11 am to 1 pm. According to them GST will take away jobs of 13,000 sales tax workers. Also, due to GST, rights of sales tax will be given to central government and then the money collection will be done by the central officers which will hamper state sales tax workers. Probably, sales tax department is likely to protest across Maharashtra.
