Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Atul Bhatkhalkar attacked the Shiv Sena-led Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government saying that not even a single minister who contracted the coronavirus was admitted in a government hospital.

“The MVA government claims that it is providing better health care facilities amid the coronavirus outbreak. If this is the case, why not even a single who contracted the coronavirus was admitted in a government hospital,” Bhatkhalkar said.

His remarks come after BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis was admitted to St. George Hospital which is a government hospital after testing positive for COVID-19. Fadnavis had earlier said that he should be admitted to a government hospital if he tests positive for the coronavirus.

Fadnavis who has been critical of the government’s health care system got admitted to a state-owned hospital to see the kind of treatment being given to the poor, Bhatkhalkar said.

“Ministers of the MVA government who made tall claims are exposing themselves. No minister has been admitted to a government hospital after testing positive for the coronavirus,” the BJP leader said.

16 cabinet ministers in the Uddhav Thackeray government have tested positive for the coronavirus till now. Recently, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar also tested positive for the coronavirus and was admitted Breach Candy Hospital.
