Ahead of the declared Lok Sabha and upcoming Maharashtra polls, Bharip Bahujan Mahasangh (BBM) chief Prakash Ambedkar made a huge announcement. Ambedkar declared that his party will be merged with the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) after the LS polls.  

Prakash Ambedkar-led Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) is an alliance formed to unite the political parties representing the marginalised sections and communities. VBA was formed after BBM joined hands with All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) ahead of the upcoming LS polls in Maharashtra. 

While talking to the media, Ambedkar pointed out that there is a politics of blackmail and pressure across the country. Earlier on Wednesday, Union Minister Smriti Irani accused Congress President Rahul Gandhi of maintaining relations with the controversial arms dealers and of “corruption”. 

Reacting to this, Ambedkar said that if the government knew about this before why didn’t they take action until now?

Speaking on the alliance with Congress in Maharashtra, Ambedkar said that the VBA will contest on all 48 LS seats in the state. Earlier, Ambedkar had released the list of 22 candidates while the rest 26 names will be declared on March 15.
