Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Mumbai on Saturday, September 7 to lay the foundation stone for new metro lines and will inaugurate the Chunabhatti-BKC overpass. PM Modi will also tour other parts of Maharashtra.

During his visit, PM Modi can also review the ongoing preparations for the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections which are scheduled mid-October this year. 

PM Modi will perform a groundbreaking ceremony for three metro lines including Metro 10 which connects Gaimukh Thane to Shivaji Chowk in Mira Road, Metro 11 – Wadala to GPA, Metro 12 – Kalyan to Taloja.  

Along with this, PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone for Metro Bhavan which will coordinate traffic on all metro lines. Ahead of the upcoming Maharashtra assembly polls, PM Modi also intends to visit Nagpur and Aurangabad to kick off a few infrastructure projects.

Earlier, Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday concluded his two-day Maharashtra tour. On Sunday, Shah was in Solapur to address a rally as a part of the ongoing Maha Janadesh Yatra launched by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. On Monday, Shah was in Mumbai and visited Siddhivinayak Mandir. 

In the presence of Home Minister Amit Shah, Congress MLA Jaykumar Gore followed by former NCP MP from Kolhapur Dhananjay Mahadi, NCP leader Rana Jagjitsinh Patil - close aide and related to Sharad Pawar - joined BJP in Solapur.
