After Nationalist Congress Party leader Jayant Patil was elected as the party’s state president of Maharashtra, the elections for party’s Mumbai unit will be held soon. For NCP’s Mumbai chief, senior party leader Sachin Ahir is likely to get re-elected. However, earlier a member of Shiv Sena, Kiran Pawaskar has also claimed for the post of Mumbai’s president.

In the party’s elections, Sunil Tatkare has been appointed as the National General Secretary of NCP and Jayant Patil has taken over the post of state president which was held by Tatkare. After this, the procedure to elect the Mumbai president will start. The election process will be under the chairmanship of Dilip Walse Patil and party’s office-bearers from all the constituencies have been called for their advice.

However, in this meeting, a few have named Kiran Pawaskar for the post of party’s Mumbai president but many corporators and office bearers proposed to re-elect Sachin Ahir. According to sources, the vice president of NCP Maharashtra, Nawab Malik has proposed the name of Kiran Pawaskar instead of Sachin Ahir.
