Ahead of Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray’s visit to Ayodhya, Farhan Azmi – son of Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Abu Asim Azmi – said that he will also visit the Uttar Pradesh (UP) city, but to build Babri Masjid.

Farhan Azmi’s remarks come ahead of CM Uddhav Thackeray’s visit to Ayodhya on March 7. This has created huge outrage. Azmi was speaking at a protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).

Earlier, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut had announced that Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray will be visiting Ayodhya on March to “seek blessing” after completing 100 days of being in power.

“Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray is visiting Ayodhya on March 7, I will also go with him. He will build Ram Mandir and we will build Babri Masjid,” Farhan Azmi said in Colaba while speaking at an anti-CAA protest organised by ‘Parcham Foundation’ and ‘We the People of India’.

Farhan Azmi further stated that the visit of Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to Ayodhya has created an atmosphere of anxiety among the Muslim community. "I call upon members of MVA and SP to come along (with him to Ayodhya)," Farhan Azmi said.
