The Supreme Court has issued a notice to the Shinde group on a petition filed by the Uddhav Thackeray group against Assembly Speaker Adv. Rahul Narvekar's decision. Therefore, it is clear that the validity of the Narvekar’s decision will be checked in the Supreme Court and the hearing in this matter will be held after two weeks. Narvekar had on January 10 dismissed petitions seeking disqualification of Shinde MLAs under the provisions of the Tenth Schedule to the Constitution.

This decision has been challenged by Sunil Prabhu, leader of the Thackeray group, in the Supreme Court. This petition came up for hearing on Monday before a three-judge bench comprising Justice Manoj Mishra, Chief Justice Dr. Dhananjay Chandrachud and Justice J. B. Pardiwala. Then the judge asked the senior lawyer Kapil Sibal that 'should we conduct a hearing or send the matter to the High Court for hearing'. Sibal opined that since Narvekar had violated the Supreme Court judgment, if the case is sent to the High Court, it may cause delay in getting justice for the applicants.
