As Shiv Sena faces backlash over the demolition of Kangana Ranaut’s office, Sanjay Raut was summoned at ‘Matoshree’ on Tuesday to meet Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. It is learnt that both leaders discussed the handling of Kangana episode and Shiv Sena’s stand on it. However, Raut said that he met the Chief Minister to discuss some party-related issues.

After meeting Thackeray, Raut asserted that the Kangana Ranaut episode was over for Shiv Sena and also denied any displeasure expressed by Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar and Congress interim President Sonia Gandhi over the ‘demolition episode’.

“Shiv Sena is busy with daily government and social work. The Kangana Ranaut episode is over for us. We have even forgotten about it,” Shiv Sena chief spokesperson Sanjay Raut said.

It was being said that Sonia Gandhi and Sharad Pawar have expressed displeasure over the demolition act by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). However, Raut refuted the claims saying that there has not been any statement by them expressing displeasure.

“This is wrong information. Nobody including Pawar saheb and Sonia ji has made any remark expressing displeasure,” the Shiv Sena MP asserted.

Raut had earlier refuted allegations that Shiv Sena was associated with the demolition action and said that the decision was by the BMC. “You can talk to Mayor or BMC commissioner regarding this,” he asserted.

MVA decides to stay away

On Wednesday, the NCP supremo met the Maharashtra Chief Minister at his official residence ‘Varsha’ in South Mumbai. It is learnt that the discussion was held on Kangana issue and Maratha reservation. Sources have confirmed that the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government has decided that its leaders will stay away from the whole controversy.

Earlier, Pawar had said that there are several illegal structures in Mumbai and it creates doubts in the minds of the people if such actions are taken. However, he later said that if BMC acted as per the rules, then it was right.
