Intense rains lashed Maharashtra last week, causing financial losses to many. The state has thus decided to extend a helping hand to those affected. The political party, Shiv Sena has too decided to join the wave of assisting the flood victims.

As soon as an order was released from the party heads, Shiv Sena MLAs have come together to help those in need by giving them one month of their salary.

Urban Development Minister Eknath Shinde and Shiv Sena Legislature Party Chief Sunil Prabhu have stated, according to reports, that all Shiv Sena ministers, ministers of state and MLAs will be donating one month of their salaries as a social commitment for the recent flood victims in Maharashtra. The decision was undertaken on the instructions of Chief Minister and Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray and Environment Minister Aaditya Thackeray, stated the two leaders.

Although the Shiv Sena is currently in power and party chief Uddhav Thackeray is the Chief Minister of the state, apart from the assistance offered by the government, relief work is also being done on the party level. Reports state that many party leaders and office bearers are trying to reach out to the flood-hit areas.

Aaditya Thackeray who was visiting Chiplun, stated that post the completion of the panchnama, flood victims, will receive assistance from the government. But a helping hand is being offered from the Shiv Sena, and he said that he was there to review it.
