Shiv Sena plans to attract Gujarati and Marwari residents for BMC elections; to organise a rally in Malad with Raas-garba

City's current ruling party, Shiv Sena, ahead of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections, has organized rallies to attract Gujarati and Marwari voters. Earlier, the party successfully conducted the same in Jogeshwari, now Sena has organized another rally in Malad, which as per plans will be held on February 7, 2021.

Reports state that a total of 21 Gujarati entrepreneurs and traders will join Shiv Sena during the program and the party also plans to organize Raas-garba (Gujarati folk dance) during the rally, in Gujarati-dominated areas.

Elections for 10 Municipal Corporations in the state are likely to be held soon and the BMC election is considered to be very important for several parties. Shiv Sena, over the years, has held the ruling at the Municipal Corporation; and to retain its strong position, the party has come up with a special strategy by attracting the Gujarati speaking voters along with Marathi speaking voters.

Shiv Sena organizer Hemraj Shah has been assigned the task for the same, and he will be organising the rally to showcase the party's promises and work for votes from in Mumbai. Accordingly, a grand meeting was organized in Jogeshwari whereby a special tagline which read 'Mumbai Ma Jalebi Na Fafda, Uddhav Thackeray Apda' was used. 

Shiv Sena had organized a rally in Navneet Hall of Gujarat Bhavan in Oshiwara, which was attended by more than 100 Gujarati traders. After the success of the same, the party has planned another rally in Malad, whereby many more Gujarati entrepreneurs and traders are expected to join the party and shall leave with a Shivbandhan on their hands.

The city of Mumbai is multi-cultural and areas like Andheri, Goregaon, Malad, Kandivali, Borivali and Dahisar areas have a large number of Gujarati and Marwari residents. Keeping this in mind, Shiv Sena has focused on this area to attract these voters from these areas.
