Maharashtra Chief Minister and Shiv Sena chief, Uddhav Thackeray attacked the BJP stating that Shiv Sena had "wasted 25 years because of its political alliance" with the party, reports stated. Thackeray had addressed his party on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray.

According to accounts, the CM asked his party to draw inspiration from its alliance partners of NCP and Congress and construct institutions in the cooperative sector at the local level.

Thackeray's comments come in the aftermath of the BJP attacking him for his absence from office after his surgery. He was quoted by reports elaborating on how he will be touring Maharashtra and will show the power of saffron to his opponents who are worried about his health.

Based on reports, Thackeray stated that Shiv Sena wasted 25 years in alliance with the BJP, adding that they stepped aside from them because their display for Hindutva is a charade for power and he believes it is unfortunate that they nurtured them for 25 years.

He stated that the BJP believes in the use and throw policy and remarked that Shiv Sena will not give up on Hindutva. He added that in the recently held local body polls, they got more seats than when they were in alliance with the BJP.

He further asked all his party workers to win every election. He elucidated that from now onwards, for every election that includes the bank, local bodies amongst others, all have to be fought to win. He believes this should be the party's purpose. He asked his party to get a foothold in the cooperative sector.

He instructed them to undertake work through institutions in the villages, districts and talukas. Thackeray wants his party to create new organizations, do institutional work and undertake work that has a far-reaching impact.
