Mumbai’s former mayors who got elected as corporators are being sidelined by Shiv Sena. The Sena’s former mayor Vishakha Raut has been given the responsibility to look after civil committee while former mayor Milind Vaidya has been told to look after G North ward’s various committees.
Corporators had filed for the BMC’s civil committee (city), the civil committee (suburbs), health committee, market and garden committee, legal committee, women and child welfare chairman post and handed over the forms to the BMC’s secretary Narayan Pathade.

Except for Vishakha Raut, first-time corporators bagged the chairman post. It is being said that Shiv Sena has insulted former mayors by keeping them away from the chairman post. The Sena’s senior corporator said that if former mayors feel that they are being insulted then they should not accept the post and they should not contest corporator elections as well.
