It has been a day of big twists as far as the Maharashtra Politics is concerned. Devendra Fadnavis has been sworn in as the Chief Minister after senior Nationalist Congress Party leader Ajit Pawar extended support to Bharatiya Janata Party to form government in Maharashtra. Ajit Pawar has been sworn in as the deputy CM. Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam who is mostly been anti-Shiv Sena also issued a statement regarding the situation at hand. He said that people will think that he might be happy about the turn of events but indeed he is very sad.

Nirupam also went on to add, "Only the Congress has been betrayed and defamed in the current political developments in the state. It was a wrong move of Congress to support Sena and believe in NCP. In Maharashtra, Congress got the mandate to sit in opposition. Now Congress is facing the wrath of Shiv Sena's sins".

He even questioned the advice given to CWC to Sonia Gandhi so far and urged to dissolve the same. He was heard saying, "What advice did the CWC give Sonia Gandhi? I urge Sonia Gandhi to dissolve the CWC, they cannot be trusted anymore. My advice is that a new CWC takes shape under Rahul Gandhi's leadership, he will work on ethics and have the party's interest in mind, not work like this by taking a backdoor approach".

At this juncture, Nirupam also lashed out an attack on NCP chief Sharad Pawar as he said, "Rahul Gandhiji had once said power is poison. Well, Pawar is also poison".

Nirupam also emphasised that the mandate given to Congress in the current election was very clear and they should stick by it and sit in the opposition.
