Maharashtra government is committed towards Maratha Reservation: CM Devendra Fadnavis

During the meeting, CM Devendra Fadnavis clarified that everyone has agreed upon the demands of the Maratha Reservation and signed the prepared memorandum.

In order to discuss Maratha Reservation, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had called a meeting with his ministers and MLAs at Sahyadri guest house. Along with CM Fadnavis, Revenue Minister Chandrakant Patil, Education Minister Vinod Tawde, Shiv Sangram Party’s President Vinayak Mete, actor Sayaji Shinde and several other dignitaries from their respective fields were present during the meeting.

During his conversation with the reporters, CM Fadnavis said that the Maharashtra government is committed towards Maratha Reservation but the protestors shouldn’t turn to violence during their protests. He also stated that several dignitaries from various fields have been consulted for the welfare of the Maratha community and a decision about the reservation will come soon.

However, Kolhapur’s Shahu Maharaj did not attend the meeting despite getting an invitation. He stated that even after conducting 58 morchas, the Chief Minister did not think about the welfare of the Maratha community then what does he intend to change with one meeting.

The Maratha community has been protesting in several districts of Maharashtra, demanding reservation for a long time. However, recently the protest turned violent which resulted in the death of six people and loss of property worth crores.
