Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MP Supriya Sule on Wednesday demanded the resignation of Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the ongoing violence in North East Delhi while owing to the moral responsibility for the “huge intelligence failure”.

The violence in parts of North East Delhi has claimed 22 lives so far, as per the media reports. Reacting to this, Sule urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to conduct a “transparent” probe into the same.

“The Centre should be held responsible for what has happened in Delhi. It was a huge intelligence failure. Union Home Minister Amit Shah must resign owing moral responsibility,” Supriya Sule said while talking to the reporters outside Vidhan Bhavan in Mumbai.

Sule added that the Home Minister is responsible for such security lapse and should tender his resignation.

“It is a huge security lapse during US President Donald Trump’s visit. The home minister is responsible for it. There should be an impartial probe into it. It is my humble request that the PM carries out a transparent inquiry,” NCP MP Supriya Sule was quoted by PTI.
