Mumbai reports 2,109 fresh COVID-19 cases, 48 deaths in one day

Nearly 17,6017 coronavirus patients have recovered in Mumbai while the total number of COVID-19 cases remain 2,13,652.

Although the Uddhav Thackeray government has started the unlocking process under ‘Mission Begin Again’, the number of coronavirus cases in Mumbai have been increasing at an alarming rate. On Sunday, 48 COVID-19 patients died in the metropolitan. 

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is making efforts to control the number of rising coronavirus cases in Mumbai. However, 2,109 fresh COVID-19 cases were reported in the city. 

Nearly 17,6017 coronavirus patients have recovered in Mumbai while the total number of COVID-19 cases remain 2,13,652. As of October 3, the active cases in Mumbai are 28,108 and the death toll in the metropolitan has reached 9,108. 

On Sunday, Maharashtra reported 13,702 new coronavirus patients and 326 deaths. However, Nearly 15,048 coronavirus patients recovered and were discharged from the hospital while 13,702 fresh COVID-19 cases were registered on Sunday.

Since its inception, 11,49,603 coronavirus patients have recovered. The recovery rate in Maharashtra stands at 79.64 per cent. 

Of the 71,11,204 samples, 14,43,409 samples have come positive (20.29 percent). Currently, there are 22,09,696 people in home isolation in Maharashtra followed by 27,939 people are in institutional quarantine. Maharashtra Public Health Minister Rajesh Tope said that the death rate in the state remains at 2.64 per cent.
