Mumbaikars, did you notice your shadow disappearing this morning? According to experts, Mumbai witnessed this phenomenon at its height around 12.35 pm.
Mumbai and Thane have been told to get ready to notice this phenomenon which is termed as “Zero Shadow Day” between May 15 and 16.

People To Go ‘Shadow-Less’ On 15 May
Because of the tilt of the axis of the earth we experience long days in summer and shorter days in winter. The longest day on the Earth is 21 June in the northern hemisphere and 21 December is the shortest day in the northern hemisphere. Between 21 June and 21 December, each latitude between the tropics receives vertical sun rays giving rise to the Zero Shadow Day phenomenon.
