The Mumbai sessions court has rejected Central Bureau Investigation’s (CBI) plea of seeking custody of accused Sharad Kalaskar, who has been arrested in connection with Nalasopara explosives case.
Maharashtra Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) made an arrest of Vaibhav Raut from Nalasopara, Sudhanva Gondhalekar and Sharad Kalaskar for planning an attack in the state. The ATS team also seized cartridges, pistol, bullets, and books related to bomb-making techniques.
During the interrogation of Sharad Kalaskar, ATS found the links in the murder of rationalist Dr Narendra Dabholkar. His involvement was also established in the same.
Meanwhile, the CBI informed the court that Sachin Andure was the one who murdered Dabholkar but Maharashtra ATS informed that Kalaskar murdered Dabholkar. Hence, CBI wanted to interrogate both Kalaskar and Andure in connection to Dabholkar’s murder and the same plea was filed in Mumbai’s sessions court.
