5 series to Binge Watch this September

Come September, and there will be many new web-series that will be hitting the web. The much appreciated series This Is Us will also be back with the fourth season. The third season was a little lacklustre but this season is expected to pack in a little more punch.

There are plenty of new interesting Indian web-series to look forward to in this month. So here’s a look at our top five choices


Series: Bard of Blood

OTT: Netflix

Last month Netflix had come out with the second instalment of Sacred Games, which was well received by the audience. This month, they are planning to go with their upcoming series – Bard of Blood. Presented by Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment, Bard Of Blood stars Emraan Hashmi.  The series comprises of seven episodes and is based on the book of the same name.  The trailer of Bard of Blood was recently released and it looks like an interesting series to watch out.

Netflix’s Bard of Blood revolves around three Indian agents who are on a mission to rescue the Indian government’s spies from Pakistan. The agents played by Emraan, Sobhita and Vineet are on the mission together as a team who face many obstacles during the mission.

Series:  Coldd Lassi aur Chicken Masala

OTT: Alt Balaji/ Zee 5

A love story with a foody twist! One of the major reasons to watch out for this series is acclaimed director Pradeep Sarkar. He is all set to make his directorial debut in the webspace with ALTBalaji's upcoming web series ‘Coldd Lassi Aur Chicken Masala’. For those unaware, Pradeep Sarkar is known for his path-breaking films like Parineeta, Mardaani, Laaga Chunari Mein Daag, Lafangey Parindey and most recently, Helicopter Eela. Tv heartthrobs Divyanka Tripathi and Rajeev Khandelwal are playing the lead role in the series.

Divyanka Tripathi (Chef Nitya) and Rajeev Khandelwal (Chef Vikram) are estranged lovers that meet after eight years. They were in love with each other when they are perusing their hotel management, Vikram is now a celebrated chef while Nitya is a strong single mom working in a restaurant that is trying hard to stay afloat.

Series:  Bhram

OTT: Zee 5

 If you are a fan of thrillers then Zee 5 has you covered with their new series Bhram. The show stars Kalki Koechlin, Bhumika Chawla, Eijaz Khan and Sanjay Suri in the lead roles.

In this psychological thriller, Kalki plays the role of a novelist suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and how she goes through the many eccentric emotions as the story unfolds. In a press statement, Kalki talking about her role in Bhram said, "The character I essay is really complex. I heard the script and then kept thinking about it for days. It is almost frightening how the human mind works."


Series:  The Family Man

OTT: Amazon Prime

Amazon Prime is leaving no stones unturned to woo the Indian audience. In the month of September it is coming out with an interesting show titled The Family Man. The series has Manoj Bajpayee in the lead role and it is written and directed by Indian-American duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K.

The Family Man is an action drama series and its teaser was released in June. The 10 episode series revolves around a middle-class man who works for the anti-terrorist National Investigation Agency.

Series:  The Verdict: State Vs Nanavati: September 30

OTT: Alt Balaji/ Zee 5

Streaming from: September 30

Based on real-life cases, this seems like another must watch from Balaji’s stable. It is a court room drama that stars Manav Kaul, Sumeet Vyas, Elli Avram, Saurabh Shukla, Kubbra Sait, Makarand Deshpande, Soni Razdan, Viraf Patel, Swanand Kirkire and Pooja Gor.
