In a veiled attack to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut accused the saffron party of using the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) for political gain.

"I got to know from the media that the other party (MNS) cancelled some programs in Ayodhya. We would have supported them. After all, there's a huge section of Shiv Sena supporters in Ayodhya (roughly translated)," Sanjay Raut said while talking to reporters.

Without naming Raj Thackeray, Raut indirectly stated that he is being used by the BJP. But some people understand it late. “I have learnt that some other party leaders have cancelled their visit to Ayodhya. If anyone requires any help or is facing difficulties, we would extend all help.”

He further mentioned that Aaditya Thackeray's Ayodhya visit is scheduled for June 15. He will also visit the Iskcon temple.

“Hundreds of Shiv Sainiks will be going to Ayodhya on June 15 under the leadership of Aditya Thackeray. There is no politics behind this. This is an issue of our faith. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has also visited Ayodhya in the past and will also visit in future as well. Shiv Sena shares a special bond with Ayodhya,” exclaimed Shiv Sena chief spokesperson Sanjay Raut.

This development came soon after the MNS chief Raj Thackeray on Friday, May 20, announced that he has cancelled his June 5 visit for now. Taking it to Twitter, he shared: “For now, Ayodhya visit cancelled….Will speak about it at May 22 rally in Pune.”

For those unversed, Raj Thackeray will hold a rally at Ganesh Kala Krida Manch in Pune city at 10 am on Sunday, May 22.

Thackeray had recently stirred up the controversy of loudspeakers. He had demanded that loudspeakers from mosques be removed. He had threatened that if the loudspeakers are not removed from mosques, his party workers would recite the Hanuman Chalisa outside those mosques.
