“I am not Donal Trump,” Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said while speaking on the easing lockdown restrictions amid coronavirus outbreak. Thackeray was recently interviewed by Shiv Sena MP and Executive Editor of ‘Saamana’ Sanjay Raut which will be published in the Marathi daily this weekend.
In a teaser of the interview, Raut tells Thackeray that people are fed up of restrictions and asked him when ‘Vada Pav’ will be available on Mumbai’s streets. Responding to this, Thackeray said, “I am not Donald Trump. I can’t see people suffering before me”.

Thackeray also said that the state government was trying to ease restrictions one by one (in a staggered manner). The Chief Minister took a dig at the handling coronavirus crisis by the Trump administration in the United States of America (USA).
The teaser also gives a glimpse of Thackeray talking about the examination amid coronavirus outbreak. He says that no one should assume that students can’t contract COVID-19.
The ‘Unlock Interview’ will be published in ‘Saamana’ - Shiv Sena’s mouthpiece’ this weekend in two parts. Raut recently carried out a marathon interview of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar amid the reports of differences between the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance.
Pawar, who is considered as the chief architect of the MVA government in Maharashtra, became the first non-Shiv Sena leader to be interviewed by Raut for ‘Saamana’. Earlier, the members of Thackeray family have been interviewed including Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray.
