After Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) carried out a massive rally to further his party’s agenda, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday took a dig at Raj Thackeray saying that Shiv Sena doesn’t need to change its flag to prove its Hindutva.
Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray made these remarks while speaking at a meeting of the party MLAs and district presidents. CM Thackeray stated that the world is aware of the “pure” Hindutva followed by Shiv Sena.
“I don’t have to prove my Hindutva. It is the Hindutva of late Balasaheb Thackeray. It is pure. I have not changed the flag of my party. One man and one flag are decided. The world knows what out Hindutva is,” a Sena member quoted the CM in media reports.
In the meeting, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had also said that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) isn’t the “flag-bearer” of Hindutva.
On Sunday, MNS took out a rally in Mumbai demanding eviction of the “illegal” immigrants belonging to Pakistan and Bangladesh. This comes after Raj Thackeray-led MNS turned full saffron on January 23.
While addressing the gathering at Azad Maidan, Raj Thackeray extended his support to the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens (NRC).
"The CAA gives citizenship to those Hindus who have faced religious atrocities in neighbouring countries (Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh and migrated to India). Do you (illegal immigrants from Pakistan and Bangladesh) consider my county a 'Dharamshala' (charity shelter)?" MNS chief Raj Thackeray said.
On the occasion of Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray’s birth anniversary, Raj Thackeray unveiled his party’s Hindutva agenda and appropriated Hindutva ideologue Vinayak Damodar Savarkar.
