The Maharashtra government has issued new guidelines for Lockdown 4.0 to keep the novel coronavirus in check.

As per guidelines, e-commerce activity will resume for essential as well as non-essential items and can be delivered in the red zones. All industrial construction sites are allowed to operate in the red zones. Sports complexes, stadiums, and other public spaces will remain open for individual exercises in non-red zones, spectators and group activities are strictly prohibited. Intra-district bus service with a maximum of 50 per cent capacity has been allowed in non-red zones.

Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had earlier ruled out lifting the relaxation measures implemented to check the spread of the coronavirus. Thackeray stated that lifting of lockdown measures will result in the spreading of COVID-19. He further added that he does not want Maharashtra to become another Brazil or the US or Italy for that matter. The CM has appealed to migrants to not walk on the roads. Meanwhile, religious festivals and congregations will not be allowed during the fourth phase of lockdown, according to the CM.

 'Total of five companies of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) will be deployed in zones 1,3,5,6 and 9 in Mumbai from today,' Mumbai Police PRO was quoted by media outlet ANI. These zones are, Zone 1-Colaba to Marine Drive, Zone 3- Tardeo, Nagpada, Worli to NM Joshi Marg, Zone 5- Dharavi to Dadar, Zone 6- Chembur to Mankhurd and Zone 9- Bandra to Amboli.

Meanwhile, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has issued a revised protocol for the sealing of buildings in Mumbai. As per the new guidelines, if there is a new COVID-19 positive case in a society or building then the entire building does not need to be sealed. Only that particular floor or ward will be sealed by the BMC.
