On Tuesday, June 21, night an MLA stated that the Shiv Sena has housed its MLAs in various hotels in Mumbai after senior leader and Maharashtra minister Eknath Shinde rebelled against the party. Shinde had camped in Surat before flying to Guwahati with some MLAs, reported the news agency PTI.

Based on the account, an MLA from Mumbai added that Shiv Sena MLAs have been put in various hotels in the city. This, the MLA added has been done to avert poaching of legislators.

The legislator reportedly did not furnish information on where precisely the Shiv Sena MLAs have been housed.

Reports suggest that Shiv Sena which heads the ruling coalition of the MVA government in the state has 55 MLAs. Shinde, on Tuesday, made a statement that nearly 40 MLAs are with him.

Amid these rifts, party chief Uddhav Thackeray sent his close aides to talk to Shinde and ascertain his demands. Narratives claim that in a telephonic conversation with Thackeray, Shinde urged the CM to get out of the MVA coalition and rejoin their estranged ally the BJP

Shinde allegedly voiced that he does not mind if he does not even get the berth of the minister. He is claimed to have made the same demand when the CM's wife Rashmi Thackeray also allegedly spoke to him.
