According to the latest reports, on Wednesday, June 22 Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde claimed that 40 party MLAs have reached Assam and added that they will be carrying forward Balasaheb Thackeray's Hindutva.

Shinde with other MLAs was staying at a hotel in Surat after the cross-voting in the Maharashtra Legislative Council (MLC) elections. Following this, they took an early flight to Guwahati.

Amid these developments, speculations claim that attempts are being made to topple the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government since Shinde and his MLAs might join the BJP.

Based on accounts, after arriving in Guwahati, Shinde declared that an aggregate of 40 Shiv Sena MLAs are here and that they will carry Balasaheb Thackeray's Hindutva.

It has been reported that the Shiv Sena MLAs were received by BJP MLA Sushanta Borgohain and BJP MP Pallab Lochan Das at the airport.

Borgohain on the other hand, while interacting with the media voiced that they came to receive them and he has not counted how many have come. He says he came to them for personal relations and added that they have not disclosed any program.

Moreover, before leaving for Guwahati, Shinde while talking to media persons said that they have not left Balasaheb Thackeray's Shiv Sena and will not leave it. He pronounced that they have been following Balasaheb's Hindutva and will continue carrying it ahead.

For the unversed, in a significant blow to the MVA government, after suspected cross-voting in the MLC elections, BJP managed to bag five seats. Following the elections, Shinde and his MLAs stayed at a hotel in Surat

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray sent close aides Milind Narvekar and Ravindra Phatak to meet Shinde and the other MLAs. Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut confirmed the developments and said that some MLAs were not being permitted to leave

In the midst of this saga, Shinde took to Twitter to announce that he has never and will never cheat for power since he has Anand Dughe's teachings and Balasaheb's thoughts.

Shiv Sena on Tuesday, June 21, made a strong statement by removing Shinde as the party's chief whip, while coalition members uttered that this is an internal Shiv Sena issue, with the government being intact.

Similarly, narratives have been rife with speculations that Shinde has felt sidelined since the formation of the MVA government.
