Manoj Jarange Patil will protest in Mumbai on January 20 for Maratha reservation. For that, he has asked the Maratha youth from across the state to enter Mumbai with tractors, various vehicles. However, if Jarange holds this protest in Mumbai, the problem of law and order and traffic congestion will arise. Hence, a criminal PIL was filed in the High Court on Monday seeking an order restraining Jarange Patil from holding the agitation.

Jarange Patil has tried to create a rift between the OBC and Maratha communities by calling for agitation for Maratha reservation. Due to their agitation, the atmosphere of peace in the state is being polluted. Moreover, the two communities have developed resentment against each other. The petition has demanded an order to file a case against Jarange, who is responsible for all this situation, for disturbing the peace and public interest.

Social activist Hemant Patil has filed this petition. We are not opposed to Maratha reservation. However, Patil has also said in the petition that we are against Jarange's agitation in Mumbai to maintain the traffic system and law and order in Mumbai.

In the last 60-70 years there were many agitations in Mumbai. There is a tradition of continuous agitation in Azad Maidan. However, the petitioner has raised the question: how will Azad Maidan make arrangements for thousands of people coming to Azad Maidan for Maratha reservation, and whether the Maidan has the capacity to accommodate so many people. Also, it has been demanded to order this movement elsewhere. In the petition, Jarange Patil along with the state government, Mumbai Police Commissioner and Azad Maidan Police have been named as respondents.
