Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar on Friday informed that he received a phone call from Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray.

This comes a day after Raj Thackeray met Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari over the issue of inflated power bills. Thackeray was advised by the Governor to meet Pawar to discuss the issue.

This meeting happened amid the tussle between Koshyari and Uddhav Thackeray. Earlier, the Governor faced a huge backlash for his political letter to the Chief Minister over the issue of reopening religious places in Maharashtra. Koshyari had questioned Thackeray’s commitment to Hindutva and mocked him for turning into a ‘secular’.

While talking to reporters, Pawar informed that Raj Thackeray had called him and was advised by the Governor to speak to him. “I received a phone call from him (Raj Thackeray). He only said that he was advised to speak to me,” the NCP chief added.

Pawar said that no plans for a meeting with the MNS chief has been made yet as he will remain out of town for three-four days.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Chandrakant Patil attacked the Chief Minister while reacting to the advice of Governor Koshyari. He said that it is Sharad Pawar who is running the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government and not the Shiv Sena chief.

One should meet Pawar if there is an issue which needs to be resolved because Uddhav Thackeray doesn’t travel outside, he added.
