Mumbai - A few days ago, Shiv Sena was targeting Modi over demonetisation issue. However, now the picture has changed. 13 Shiv Sena MPs, who had gone to visit the prime minister to question him on the demonetisation issue, apparently calmed down after the meeting. The reason - the late Sena supremo Bal Thackeray. “After I die, I will be able to meet Bal Thackeray's eye. But will you be able to face him?" Modi asked the 13 MPs, leaving them speechless.
Meanwhile, Modi asked union minister Nitin Gadkari to pacify Uddhav Thackeray prior to the civic elections. Gadkari paid a visit to Uddhav Thackeray at his residence ‘Matoshree’ ostensibly to invite him for him his daughter’s upcoming wedding. It is being now said that the invitation was just an excuse and the real reason of meeting was to pacify Thackeray and avoid a confrontation. Modi is, no doubt, trying his best to win over Uddhav without hurting sentiments on either side of the fence. At last count, he appears to be winning.
