After Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray spoke on the ongoing reservation issue asking the protestors to stop the protest, Maharashtra Swabhimani party chief and MP Narayan Rane, too expressed his views on the same. He said that once protestors stop protesting, the state government will think of giving reservation to the Maratha community.

On the backdrop of the Maratha Kranti Morcha, Rane met Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis where the duo discussed on possibly mending ways with the protestors.

In the last 10-15 days, agitation has intensified across the state over the demand of reservation in jobs and education. The reasons for things taking a violent turn are because there is no dialogue between the state government and protestors. I want to mediate and solve the issue,” said Rane. At the same time, he did not share the meeting details with the press.

The previous government had formed a committee to review the Maratha community’s reservation demand that was led by Maharashtra Swabhimani party chief and MP Narayan Rane. However, both, Maratha community leaders and Bombay High Court found loopholes in the report. Clarifying his stand, he said the state government should file an affidavit if they are not happy with the report.

Rane has requested the protestors to stop protesting adding that he would mediate the meeting in the next 2-3 days and will try and solve the issues related to the reservation for Maratha community.
