The case of Sushant Singh Rajput has been in the news for over two months. On Wednesday, the apex court ruled that the case will be now investigated by the CBI. There have been a lot of to and fro between the Mumbai Police and the Bihar Police in this regards. Fans of Sushant Singh Rajput had been demanding a CBI investigation for his case for almost over a month now.

After the case was transferred to CBI, Sharad Pawar taking a dig said that "I hope the (SSR) investigation will not be like the Dabholkar murder case". For those unaware, Dabholkar case was handed for investigation by CBI in the year 2014 and it remains unsolved till now. Renowned rationalist and founder of Maharashtra Andhashraddha Nirmoolan Samiti (MANS), Dabholkar was a medico. On August 20, 2013, Dabholkar was shot dead near his Pune home while on a morning constitutional

These remarks have not gone well with Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Atul Bhatkalkar. As a response to this remark by Sharad Pawar, Bhatkalkar said that perhaps the NCP leader had forgotten that - at that time - the Congress-NCP government was in power in the state.

"Why was the case not probed then? Did the police do what they did now (in the Sushant case)?" Bhatkalkar demanded.

On June 14, 2020, actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his residence in Bandra, Mumbai. As per Mumbai Police, the actor had committed suicide. In connection with the case, the Mumbai police, till date, has questioned 56 people which includes, Mahesh Bhatt, Aditya Chopra, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Apoorva Mehta, Rajeev Masand, in connection with the actor's death.
