After achieving a landslide victory in the Lok Sabha elections 2019, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took an oath for the second consecutive term on Thursday, May 30 in New Delhi. 

The Modi-led cabinet consists of BJP leaders like Amit Shah, Prakash Javadekar, Smriti Irani, Rajnath Singh amongst the others. 

Earlier, reports were floating around about Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President, Amit Shah's role in the cabinet ministry and speculations were that he would be assigned Finance Ministry. However, it was later confirmed that Shah would lead the Ministry of Home Affairs. Previously, Shah had resigned as the Rajya Sabha minister after his party emerged victorious in the national election. 

Meanwhile, PM Modi took an oath along with 24 cabinet ministers, nine state ministers (independent charge) and 24 state ministers. However, 40 per cent of ministers from the previous cabinet were not included in the ministry this time. Former Union ministers, Arun Jaitley and Sushma Swaraj opted out of the cabinet due to health issues.

Prakash Javadekar: Environment Minister, Information and Broadcast Minister

Arvind Sawant: Heavy Industry & Public Enterprise Minister

Piyush Goyal: Railway Minister
