After the all-party meeting, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray informed that he has suggested Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray deploy the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) to assist the police in enforcing the lockdown amid the coronavirus outbreak.

“In places where people are taking the administration for granted and in containment zones, the state government should deploy the SRPF. Muslims should also be asked to celebrate Ramzan indoors,” Raj Thackeray said.

The MNS chief further informed that the small or private clinics should be allowed to open in the state and police force should be deployed there to control the queues.

Raj Thackeray has also demanded that the migrant workers should be registered under the state migrant law on their return after this is all over. “This is time to rectify the mess that has been created,” the MNS chief said while adding that the migrant workers should be tested for COVID-19 before being allowed in the state again.

The MNS chief further said that since the migrant workers are going to their native places, the youth of Maharashtra should be given jobs. “Now, the migrant workers have left and the industries are closed due to lack of workers. Maharashtra youth should be given employment. This opportunity should not be wasted,” he added.

Expressing concern over the academic year of students, Raj Thackeray said that e-learning was not always possible even in cities. The state government should tell people how it plans to ensure that academic year is completed, he added.

Furthermore, the MNS chief demanded the Uddhav Thackeray government to explain the lockdown exit plan in advance to the people. “You can’t keep the lockdown in place until the vaccine for COVID-19 arrives. There should be an exit plan,” Raj Thackeray said.

Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray held an all-party meeting with the leaders of 18 political parties in the state to discuss the COVID-19 situation on Thursday and asked for the suggestions from the opposition leaders to combat the spread of the coronavirus.

Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Maharashtra Legislative Assembly and Council - Devendra Fadnavis and Praveen Darekar along with Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray, among others participated in the meeting. Moreover, MNS leader Amit Thackeray was also present in the all-party meeting at Mantralaya.

Raj Thackeray was seen without wearing a mask when he arrived for the all-party meeting at Mantralaya. When asked about it, Thackeray said that he didn’t wear a mask because everyone else was wearing one.
