A Congress legislator in the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government in Maharashtra has alleged that Shiv Sena ministers block the important work files of Congress MLAs. This has emerged as yet another tussle among the allies partners in the MVA.

On July 19, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray held a meeting via video conference with MLAs of the MVA government in Vidarbha to discuss several issues. The meeting was attended by top ministers in the MVA government including Deputy CM Ajit Pawar, Balasaheb Thorat, Jayant Patil, Nitin Raut and Eknath Shinde, among others.

In the meeting, Congress MLA Subhash Dhote expressed his displeasure over the blocking of important files and accused the MVA government of not respecting Congress legislators. Dhote, who represents the Rajura assembly constituency in Maharashtra, was speaking before the Chief Minister.

Dhote said that the then coalition government (Bharatiya Janata Party and Shiv Sena) had transferred the municipality funds to the construction department. He further informed that two letters were sent to Maharashtra Urban Development Minister Eknath Shinde asking him to return the funds.

The Congress MLA, however, said that the same has not been fulfiled even now despite then Urban Development Secretary Manisha Mhaiskar being in the loop regarding it.

“We sent two letters to Urban Development Minister Eknath Shinde requesting to return the funds to the municipality. We also kept former Urban Development Secretary Manisha Mhaiskar in the loop but it has not been fulfilled. We demand that the diversion of funds should be immediately done,” Dhote said while speaking at the meeting.

Dhote expressed his resentment against Shinde and said that the work demanded by Congress legislators in not fulfilled on time which was wrong. Meanwhile, the Shiv Sena minister assured that he will resolve the issue personally.
