Amid on-off speculations of Shiv Sena and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alliance ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha and Maharashtra assembly elections, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut on Monday hinted towards the possibility of the same.

Shiv Sena on Monday morning held a meeting with all its party workers, leaders, MPs, and MLAs to discuss their strategy for the upcoming polls. However, there was no denial on the question of alliance with BJP.

While talking to the media, Raut implied that Shiv Sena is at the top in the state, saying, “Shiv Sena is the big brother in Maharashtra and will always remain one”

In the political circle, it is being said that the statement made by Raut indicates Shiv Sena’s willingness for an alliance with the BJP but with some conditions. Shiv Sena wants BJP to know that Sena should be given more leverage for seats in the upcoming elections and should be treated like a “big brother”.

When asked about the speculations of 50-50 seat share between Sena and BJP, Raut said that they don’t have such proposals and will not accept the same while restating that Sena is a “big brother” in the state.
