Good news for commuters who often travel from Nashik to Mumbai, as in the next 15 days, Indian Railways will be carrying out a test run of Nashik-Mumbai local train. Post this test, Kalyan to Nashik Road local train will be introduced.
There are many commuters who travel to and fro from Nashik to Mumbai for work purposes, however, there are limited long-distance trains (Rajyarani Express, Panchavati Express, Godavari Express) for these commuters.

Hence, commuters were demanding more number of local trains between Nashik and Mumbai. However, railways were finding it difficult to introduce the same due to Kasara tunnel.
