Where the general masses in are struggling to have access 24X7 running water in Mumbai, a quantum which is as huge as 11 lakh liters goes down the drains due to the breaking of water pipeline in Jogeshwari. Blaming it all on BMC which has become a recurring case, Mahendra Vishwakarma, a passerby reported that the pipeline had split open sometime between 8 to 9 in the morning, but none of the BMC workers turned up until 11 a.m. to attend to the situation.
A critical question here pops up as to how long before BMC will wake up to such pressing situations in the city especially when people are yearning for pure and safe drinking water.
