Owing to the suicides and suicide attempts in and out of the Mantralaya, the state government has beefed up security by placing policemen on every floor of the Mantralaya building at Nariman Point.

Police security has been beefed up on the fifth and sixth floor where offices of General Administration Department and Home Department office are situated. Henceforth, police will speak to each and everyone who will stand for more than five minutes outside any office in particular.

Boom barriers and bollards will be set up at the entrance of the Mantralaya which will help in the scanning of people who enter the Mantralaya building. Mumbai Live spoke to an official who spoke on the condition of anonymity that people who come in Mantralaya might have to give their Aadhar cards for an entry purpose.

Along with this, a new system will be set up which will help in making gate passes. Usually, it takes six to ten minutes to create a gate pass.
